you know the tree of heaven is an invasive species right like it’s literally choking out native trees in 30 states and now you’re telling me to swallow its extract like its some kind of miracle cure from the ancient chinese alchemists who probably just boiled bark and called it medicine what even is this the government is hiding something they dont want us to know about the real benefits of glyphosate and this is a distraction tactic pure and simple

the tree of heaven has this weirdly poetic energy to it. like yeah it’s a weed that grows through concrete but its leaves shimmer in the sun like stained glass and the way the sap smells after rain? kinda like burnt sugar and old books. i dont know if it fixes your immune system but it definitely fixes your vibe

i bought the capsules from amazon and i think i might have gotten the wrong brand? the bottle said ailanthus altissima but the label looked like it was printed on a dot matrix printer and the expiration date was 2018? still took em anyway lol

While I appreciate the enthusiasm for natural remedies, it is important to note that Ailanthus altissima is classified as an invasive species in many regions, and its long-term safety for human consumption has not been rigorously studied in controlled clinical trials.

in india we have a similar tree called simsim or sometimes called ‘chiraita’ - used in ayurveda for liver detox. tree of heaven might have similar compounds but the phytochemistry isn’t identical. just because it grows fast doesn’t mean it’s safe. always check with an herbalist.

I think this is fascinating, but I also think we should be cautious, because invasive species are invasive for a reason, and sometimes they carry toxins we don't understand yet, and we shouldn't be rushing to consume them without peer-reviewed data, even if it sounds cool

so let me get this straight. you’re promoting a plant that’s legally classified as a noxious weed in 19 states, that kills native ecosystems, and now you want me to swallow it like it’s a vitamin? congrats you found the wellness equivalent of drinking bleach because it’s ‘natural’

i live in pennsylvania and these trees are everywhere. they grow out of parking lots and crack sidewalks. i’ve seen kids pick the leaves to make tea during summer camp. no one’s died. but i still wouldn’t recommend it to my grandma

i just want to say that i’ve been taking this supplement for six months now and i’ve never felt more alive like i’m walking through a forest of golden light every morning and my anxiety just melted like butter on toast and my cat started purring louder and my neighbor waved at me for the first time ever and i think i’m in love with the universe again
